The score builds a feeling that death can be waiting around every corner. Such a gritty, dirty, depressing set that matches the themes perfectly. The pacing is unique in how it allows for subtle character development. There is a kill that involves a broken door that did something to my brain that rarely happens & consistently plays in my mind. Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian show how Pencak Silat is effective in close combat. The scene where they fight is done wonderfully. Every single movement of fights is noticed and catches the viewer's eye.
