I cannot sing the praises of this film often enough. Just wonderful.

The Way Way Back touches on certain important matters, while turning a blind eye to much, much bigger ones. It is relatively easy on itself and on the world.

The Way Way Back will lift your spirits and make you rediscover that part of you that still believes you're capable of anything, no matter how deep down within you it has been buried.

Sundance would not be Sundance without a few unbelievably stupid, clichéd, graceless movies in the mix.

While it doesn't always stick the landing and the plot threads feel a little clumsily tied, The Way, Way Back succeeds where it counts with its big, sloppy heart.
December 17, 2016
Collette gives a nervy performance as Pam, but the real stars are Janney and Rockwell, and a quirky script by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash.

November 16, 2015
The Way Way Back has its heaviness, but in the end it floats to the surface and lodges.

An astoundingly sweet, lovable, immensely enjoyable little film that hits all the right notes as you're watching it thanks to its excellent cast.
