Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) Martin Thomas It delivers everything you could've had on your wish-list, if you're a fan...for me, what it does do right is the spectacle, and it's really really right. EDIT

Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) Korey Coleman For fans out there, it's a matinee. For the rest of us, the writing is just so bad. EDIT

Ma (2019) Korey Coleman It's frustrating, because there's a lot of ignored potential here...the movie is a cop-out in some areas because it really wants to go to shock territory, but Octavia Spencer is so good in this, and the movie does keep you going. EDIT

Aladdin (2019) Korey Coleman Technically, it's not great. Will Smith isn't the problem, but there are moments when his face is just floating all over the place, a second behind the CG... EDIT
Posted May 31, 2019
Aladdin (2019) Martin Thomas It's inspired at times, not always...moments of inspiration amid plodding...the placement of songs was plain and distracting. EDIT
Posted May 31, 2019
Brightburn (2019) Martin Thomas If I paid to go see this, I would be mad. There was a lot more to be done here. EDIT
Posted May 31, 2019
Brightburn (2019) Korey Coleman I found it dull. it moves toward things that are pretty predictable...no surprises here, y'all aren't going to do more? The dialogue was bad, with actors that helped you not notice it so much. EDIT
Posted May 31, 2019
Booksmart (2019) Martin Thomas These characters really do seem like they've been best friends forever...refreshing, and genuinely funny and topical. EDIT
Posted May 31, 2019
Loqueesha (2019) Korey Coleman Just do not listen to Jeremy Saville. EDIT
Posted May 31, 2019
Loqueesha (2019) Martin Thomas Why would you do something even sort of like this? EDIT
Posted May 31, 2019
John Wick: Chapter 3 -- Parabellum (2019) Korey Coleman It's totally for fans, and even if you're not a fan, the craft and the spectacle is impressive...ultimately, it's a movie I've seen, but I don't need to see it again... EDIT

John Wick: Chapter 3 -- Parabellum (2019) Martin Thomas If you are a fan, this movie is for you...they've done what they set out to do. EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
The Sun Is Also a Star (2019) Martin Thomas Everything is kind of explained for you, to you...it feels like the theme of the movie is being explained, rather than experienced... EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
The Sun Is Also a Star (2019) Korey Coleman It's a little bit of a different spin from the YA novel...when it's all done, regardless of what complaints I have, these two great actors really do work well together. EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
A Dog's Journey (2019) Martin Thomas I wondered, if you could just recut this movie and take out the narration... EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
A Dog's Journey (2019) Korey Coleman The characters were written so serious...but it's a good rental, and I did enjoy it. EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
The Intruder (2019) Martin Thomas You know where this is going 10 minutes in... EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
The Intruder (2019) Korey Coleman I loved this, and I will watch it again. I'm not telling anyone else to see it, it's straight-up [bad], but I was so entertained that I in good consciousness can't hate... EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019) Korey Coleman If it works for me, imagine how much it will work for the fans...I just enjoyed looking at it. EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019) Martin Thomas Hats-off...a theater-worthy spectacle. EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
The Hustle (2019) Korey Coleman I just have no patience for this kind of humor. EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
The Hustle (2019) Martin Thomas Just constant non-sequiturs about being fat...you're better than that... EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019) Martin Thomas There were great moments, but this is definitely something you don't need to watch at the theater...I wasn't all that interested in it, and I don't want to play into Ted Bunny fever... EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019) Korey Coleman They get some scenes right...but they really undercut the drama by being so choppy. It's not terrible. EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
Long Shot (2019) Martin Thomas It felt like two, maybe three different movies stitched together? The idea is that they'll blend at some point, but they don't. EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
Long Shot (2019) Korey Coleman These two characters are completely unbelievable. EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
UglyDolls (2019) Korey Coleman This is essentially a 90-minute toy commercial, and I'm so mad. EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
UglyDolls (2019) Martin Thomas You just don't have to do this. It's weird, anyway. EDIT
Posted May 22, 2019
Penguins (2019) Martin Thomas It's worth a matinee. It's fun, definitely something for your young kids...a light, softer retread...still, harmless, nice to look at, and so short. EDIT
Posted Apr 26, 2019
Penguins (2019) Korey Coleman Knowing where this comes from...for the most part, it's one of the more innocent movies out there. It's hard to come by that in film these days. EDIT
Posted Apr 26, 2019
The Curse of La Llorona (2019) Martin Thomas All these movies are starting to feel the same... EDIT
Posted Apr 26, 2019
The Curse of La Llorona (2019) Korey Coleman Whatever happens at the end of this movie means nothing...you could have had a typical ending but you chose to go stupid with it. EDIT
Posted Apr 26, 2019
Breakthrough (2019) Martin Thomas I wished it wasn't targeting its demographic so hard, it felt like things were forced in there, but I still enjoyed it. EDIT
Posted Apr 26, 2019
Breakthrough (2019) Korey Coleman It's moving, painful, to watch...because there's such a good cast and such a compelling story, a lot of this works...but it's undermined, a little heavy-handed when it didn't need to be...still, one of the best faith-based movies I've seen. EDIT
Posted Apr 26, 2019
Avengers: Endgame (2019) Martin Thomas It's fun. You're not watching Shakespeare, remember...these guys have really done something with the superhero movie. EDIT
Posted Apr 26, 2019
Avengers: Endgame (2019) Korey Coleman A movie with just so many great parts to it. I guarantee later, if part of it comes on, you'll stick around to watch the whole thing. EDIT
Posted Apr 26, 2019
Pet Sematary (2019) Korey Coleman I really like where it went...just a bit stupid in the beginning. EDIT
Posted Apr 12, 2019
Pet Sematary (2019) Martin Thomas I was genuinely scared in the beginning...but where it ends up, by the halfway point, I was laughing so hard... EDIT
Posted Apr 12, 2019
The Best of Enemies (2019) Martin Thomas By the end, it really pulled off what it needed to, and had that emotional punch. EDIT
Posted Apr 12, 2019
High Life (2018) Martin Thomas I admire this. Claire Denis is still directing thoughtful sci-fi. EDIT
Posted Apr 12, 2019
High Life (2018) Korey Coleman For those who love thought-provoking science fiction, it works to an extent...but I'm not as drawn in as some other critics are... EDIT
Posted Apr 12, 2019
Missing Link (2019) Martin Thomas My favorite things were the production design, character and costume design...Oscar-worthy what they put into this. EDIT
Posted Apr 12, 2019
Missing Link (2019) Korey Coleman It keeps your attention through the whole film. It's not highly memorable...but this is a snack, something to keep the kids quiet, not to talk bad about it...good, not great. EDIT
Posted Apr 12, 2019
Hellboy (2019) Martin Thomas Not one of these movies has left me wanting more Hellboy. EDIT
Posted Apr 12, 2019
Hellboy (2019) Korey Coleman Lending itself to nothing, it goes around killing people for no reason...pointless. EDIT
Posted Apr 12, 2019
Little (2019) Martin Thomas I'm not sure it works so well. The beginning is actually genuinely funny, but it's very short...the rest of the movie goes from not-that-funny to downright painful. EDIT
Posted Apr 12, 2019
Little (2019) Korey Coleman Barely a rental, but I did get some really good laughs out of it. When it worked, it worked... EDIT
Posted Apr 12, 2019
The Aftermath (2019) Martin Thomas This is that kind of romantic movie s---- that we stopped doing 20 years ago. EDIT
Posted Apr 3, 2019
The Aftermath (2019) Korey Coleman It would be one thing if the romance meant something. It is empty. EDIT
Posted Apr 3, 2019
Unplanned (2019) Korey Coleman This serves nobody but the people that made it. It's lining their pockets. EDIT
