A century before the events of "Game of Thrones," two unlikely heroes wander Westeros. In an adaption of George R. R. Martin's novella "The Hedge Knight," a young and naive but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg, face a series of dangerous exploits. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and images of the last dragon have not yet passed from living memory, great destinies and powerful foes await these improbable and incomparable friends.

I loved this show. It felt so much smaller and more personal than Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon. The relationship between Dunk and Egg is what makes it work.

I love that it was shot with the same quality as Game of Thrones. I love everything Game of Thrones. Except this series. The story was terrible. There was very little happening from episode to episode. The end of the season was terrible with the only good character dying after the only action sequence of the entire season. Just a dumb disappointing series. I don’t recommend watching it.

Rating: 8.0/10 - Most people I've heard talk about this show glaze it, not sure if an 8 will be satisfactory. A lot of my close friends say that it is similar to early seasons of GoT, unfortunately it is not similar to GoT at all in terms of plot & world building. While aKotSK did not live up to the hype of early GoT seasons - 9s/10 ratings, it was still a good show. I loved the dynamic between Egg & Duncan. I liked seeing the working class prospective instead of the traditional battles between lords. In addition, a lot of the characters were well done & likeable (Egg, Baratheon, Baelor, & Rayum). My rating droppers are: the tournament being edged for 6 episodes (honestly thought it was going to happen in episode 1 and then continue with the story), ignoring the rest of the 7v7 (felt like I was being robbed), did not feel a huge emotional connection to Duncan, & I feel as if his character is limited (not in likeability - felt like I was not compelled by his background or personality)

I love the Dunk and Egg stories. They are my favourite in all the aSoIaF universe. I was both excited and nervous about bringing it to TV. But I thought they smashed it. They were very true to the original narrative and most (if not all) additions were done really well
