A century before the events of "Game of Thrones," two unlikely heroes wander Westeros. In an adaption of George R. R. Martin's novella "The Hedge Knight," a young and naive but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg, face a series of dangerous exploits. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and images of the last dragon have not yet passed from living memory, great destinies and powerful foes await these improbable and incomparable friends.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a welcome return to Westeros that works better in the buddy-comedy arena rather than solely slaying its competition.

Audience Says

Way more dopey than GoT, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms offers a refreshing, low stakes return to Westeros anchored by the endearing duo of Egg and Dunk.

By creating a more humane world in a landscape that feels increasingly unmanageable, a story that insists on small acts of goodness is almost radical. Go to Full Review

As with Game of Thrones too, I can never quite suppress the heretical thought that, underneath the surface swagger, it essentially consists of the purest corn. Go to Full Review

Duncan’s kindness and dedication to honor shine through as he takes on this strange bald-headed kid who seems to know a shocking amount about all of the Knights and royal families. Go to Full Review

John H. @jheld 1h Truly excellent storytelling See more Laura E. @lolaema 2h I love this show! It’s sweet and still has the GOT flair. See more Sterling R. @sterlo 6h Just excellent. Characters you can finally root food. Actual humor that is lol sliced in with some truce earnestness. See more StewArt @Vinnyboombah 9h Such a great series that’s really character driven. I don’t miss the dragons and crazy secondary story arcs as this is just right See more Lorenzo G @lgv123 13h In just 4 episodes this likely it's going to be my favourite show of 2026. Excellent writing, casting and acting. The duo is simply genius. I've been recommending the show to everyone I know! See more Ash @Ashley190 14h Ending of the most recent episode made me feel something I haven't felt from the Westeros universe since the earlier (aka actually good) seasons of GoT.
