Andrew is a romantic who works for an online dating website and dreams about meeting "the one" he imagines to be like the woman in a silver dress he once spotted at a concert. Zelda is a no-nonsense lawyer, who rebelled against her hippie mom by becoming exceedingly practical. When a computer glitch on the dating website leads to her being paired with a total mismatch, she goes to the offices to be interviewed about it, meeting Andrew in the process. Despite their differences, the two hit it off, and Andrew believes it to be fate, convinced she is the one with the silver dress in his dreams.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

The leads are endearing, but A to Z's writing feels gimmicky and lacks a fresh perspective on the modern-day TV romance.

The writing can be smart and Feldman shows a real gift for playing neurotics whose grand flourishes will strike women as either romantic or totally creepy. Go to Full Review
Mary McNamara Los Angeles Times 10/06/2014
Equally saucer-eyed and engaging, Feldman and Milioti possess an attractive but still admirably expressive miens and the comedic timing required for Queens' nicely wrought depiction of early courtship's nervous hope. Go to Full Review

The entire effort is too icky-cute by half, so much so that if you don't leave tonight's premiere wanting to kill the main characters, it's only because of Milioti's and Feldman's efforts. Go to Full Review

Thanks to a clever conceit and the perfect casting, A to Z is worth a watch. Go to Full Review

If Andrew and Zelda would just relax and let us get to know them better, we might be more willing to start a relationship with them. Go to Full Review

SIBIRIAK . May 9 RomCom for those who hate romcoms I'm rewatching it for the 3rd time. The only mistake they made is they created it too soon. So many iconized shows were made those years. And people were going to hate anything that is something else. Let's be honest, most of the people love not a story or filming, they fall in love with the characters. And being haven't got over the breakup with the 9 seasons of their favorite boys and girls. That's the first problem of being released that year. Another problem is the legacy media that rely on those people that has already fallen in love with other characters. If AtoZ were released on a streaming platform today, it would have found its audience and continue leaving on. Even if the show were released on a streaming platform even back then, it would have survived simply because it doesn't cost much to be online, and a little bit later the audience could fall in love with the story. Another part - why not? What is there not to love if we don't take into account the religious love for other shows? The premise is interesting. The characters are interesting. The whole structure of the story is visionary. From the first seconds we know that it's going to end and it creates scarcity. The cast is so great! The whole landscape of the story - this two buildings and the windows, and this business cul-de-sac park (or whatever it is). That's really fresh. See more 04/07/2015 Cristin Milioti and Ben Feldman give pitch perfect performances, and have perfect chemistry! Henry Zebrowski gives a pretty good and funny performance as Stu, but aside from those things, the rest of the show is just ok. The ending wasn't awful, but even if it was the best ending ever, it will still anger you that they didn't get to Z. And then after that you realize there's only 26 letters in the alphabet, and you realize a whole plethora of new things that anger you. It was good while it was on, but I'm not too sad it was cancelled. See more 03/15/2015 Milioti and Feldman are adorable. Something I looked forward to every week. Shame it was canceled. See more 01/25/2015 After watching the full 13 episode run, I am glad I did. I liked it right off, then a few episodes stumbled with plot oddness and occasional script issues. For a romcom right out of the gate, the characters are well develped well beyond many shows that are still running. I hope some other channel picks it up. See more 01/23/2015 The show is bad but Dreama Walker was great. If Dreama continues on the show i will keep watching it. If not, i will pull the plug on this one.
