Alex was supposed to have an incredible escape from a flooded room. He was supposed to parachute into a secure complex, not just climb a rope onto a ship. Scorpia was supposed to be giving him fancy things and treating him like an honoured guest at first in a five star hotel in an attempt to recruit him. These were some of the best parts of the book that for some reason got left out. The jungle story with Yassin and Rider was much cooler than yet another parking garage story which is really getting old. However, this was done much better than season 2. The actors hired during this season were actually good and good at their roles. Syl was actually not terribly unattractive like other actresses that seem to have been hired on this show despite that very reason. That being said, the relationship with the new and unattractive goth girl is just completely awkward. Kaira works great as a friend but only that. Sabina if she was like she was in the books and actually attractive would be a much better relationship. The balloon ending was much better than the tower. The reveal of the Scorpia guy being terrified of heights and falling to his death was much more interesting, as well as the balloon falling on Rothman. I'd give it four stars, but the relationship with the unattractive goth girl is so bad it has to get dropped to 3.5. It was engaging. Season 3... well, it jumped the shark. Everything about it is bad -- the story is weak, the acting is weak, the villians are straight from a cartoon. I'm trying to put my finger on why it is so bad. Maybe it is one of those shows that got lost in the YA genre as the characters grow up. But the Alex Rider character is terrible this season (I don't blame the actor, he did good work before, but obviouslyit is the directing and the storyline), the "Shaggy" friend is way too ridiculous, and frankly, it just seems like it was dialed in. I couldn't even finish the season, and it is rare for me to stop in the middle of a season of ANYTHING. See more Read all reviews
