The set-up is neat and taut, with Nyholm’s direction locked tightly to Kay’s plotting and the performances controlled and soberly naturalistic. Go to Full Review

Intense, bloody and thought-provoking, the show is much more than a standard murder mystery. Go to Full Review

The cast is very good overall, but the acting duel between Andersson...and Oftebro...creates an emotional journey that is as deep as it is believable. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

The series makes its strongest point by recognizing that there is rarely anything simple about the people behind the badge—or the institutions they serve. Go to Full Review

Netflix’s latest scandi noir, Blood Sacrifice, is decidedly grim, but also surprisingly effective for a late-August streaming entry. Go to Full Review

Blood Sacrifice is a gripping Swedish Nordic noir with a compelling serial-killer mystery, strong performances and an intriguing father-son story, but uneven pacing holds it back. Go to Full Review

nyx . @missnyx 4 days ago It started off with an interesting premise, but the narrative structure and pacing are completely off. They wasted so much time on John-Jo Persson and his husband. They keep cutting back to their home life, their baby, and their domestic dynamic, but neither of them has any actual impact on the main plot. They barely interact with the main characters, and their personal storyline is completely disconnected from the actual mystery and core narrative. It feels like standard Netflix tokenism—throwing in a gay couple just to check a diversity box for a streaming show without actually writing them into the story. I get that writers sometimes try to show "high stakes" for side characters on the police force, but here it just came across as arbitrary filler that dragged down the pacing. See more Christina B @FuddieDudie24 Sep 23, 2026 I agree with the majority of these reviews. This started out so promising! Nordic Noir is one of my absolute favorite genres! What started as in intriguing story, started to rapidly fall apart by episode 4. Way too rushed, and definitely contrived, at times. It wasn’t the worst show ever, but certainly could have been SO much better! See more diogo13 T @Tua_mera Sep 21, 2026 A competent police thriller that suffers from a lack of originality and a predictable mystery. Although the dysfunctional family dynamic and the Swedish summer setting offer an interesting change of pace, the miniseries fails to break free from the most clichéd "Nordic Noir" formulas. Strictly average entertainment. See more Annika E @RT72690443 Sep 16, 2026 I loved it. I’m not sure why others didn’t like this, but I found it gripping from start to finish. The performances were stellar. The stakes felt real and palpable. Especially enjoyable was the exploration of the protagonist and his possibly narcissistic father, who has such a hold on him. See more Boks K @Chuchuland Sep 13, 2026 DO NOT waist your five hours like I did.. I want my time back! It was okay for two episodes, after that, everything just became stupid till the end! See more M D P @RT11302800 Sep 9, 2026 Well written and acted, the relationship between the main detective and his father is a highlight of the series. I would happily tune into a second series, @ just 5 episodes it's a pleasurable binge, with a standout ending. See more Read all reviews
