Chozen isn't an ordinary performer. The gay rapper -- fresh out of prison -- is armed with a new message and is on a quest for redemption and to claim his rightful spot at the top of the world's rap rankings. Typically, rap music is associated with machismo and misogyny, but not Chozen's. His music and lyrics take aim at those stereotypes with a new world view that was shaped by his time behind bars. The animated comedy is from the producers behind "Eastbound & Down" and "Archer."

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Stereotypical, dated, and overly reliant on cheap laughs, Chozen is provocative in the worst way.

None of this will come as a surprise to fans of Archer, the profane secret-agent spoof that crosses just about any line you care to draw concerning sex, drugs and violent imagery. But where Archer... stylishly crosses it, Chozen clumsily trips and falls. Go to Full Review

An oddball, sometimes clever and sometimes eyebrow-raising new animated comedy series. Go to Full Review

For a show with such an in-your-face conceit... Chozen is surprisingly, endearingly tender. Go to Full Review

Chozen is so full of shocking bad taste that one starts to worry about the mental health of the people who wrote it, and then about the safety of the people near them. Go to Full Review

Even if you could argue that the jokes on Chozen are impeccable (which they aren't), there would still be plenty of people who would find them far from funny. Go to Full Review

Hawk W @RT94309053 May 11 If someone can bring back this show I will support it See more 04/29/2014 The show isn't entirely bad it's just that satirizing the rap industry seems so dated and tired by now that maybe there's just nothing more to satirize. With that said, sometimes the humor can be sharp insightful and funny, while most of the time the show relies on body fluid humor, prat falls, and very very vey over used and non funny gay jokes. I hope this show finds its footing because the premise while not new has promise for something great. I just wish the writer would focus more on what the show is suppose to be, because as it stands now; the show is a mediocre mess. See more 04/26/2014 Watched the whole thing, loved it. Pushes the boundaries and challenges the audience with humor. I hope they make more seasons. See more 04/12/2014 Chozen may not always be the best show, but for the most part, it's very impressive. It's very funny, even when it's jokes are old and stereotypical, the raps in the show from its title character are actually quite impressive, and the voice cast is perfect, everyone doing an amazing job, some jobs. See more 04/08/2014 Amazing cast..Danny McBride killz it! See more 04/03/2014 This is a solid show. It has humour along with a storyline that makes you want to watch the next episodes. Sucks that people get butt hurt over a few lines. Go watch the Big Bang Theory or the terrible new season of Archer and let people who watch this kind of television do the ratings.
