Knowing how this story is ultimately going to pay off helps a lot. Otherwise this episode would be a frustrating return to the Clarks screwing up yet another sweet sanctuary.
The show has entered stupid territory now, and is starting to make many of the same mistakes as The Walking Dead, and at least one very big narrative error that's entirely original.
We have seen enormous hordes of zombies before. There is something extra-chilling about this horde because they have been "harvested" specifically for this purpose.
It's hard not to see the parallels that Fear is drawing.

Fear wants to indulge in absolutes even as it wallows in the muck of gray morality.
Not only did Mel's death add some finishing touches to the Vultures' defeat, but it also gave Alicia yet another moment to showcase her muted empathy and thundering judgment. But how on Earth will this storyline extend into the second half of the season?
