Critic Reviews for Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted Season 1

All Critics (7) | Top Critics (1)

There is much to learn here and some absolutely gorgeous camerawork. But Ramsay's manic energy always creates a slightly aggressive vibe, so whenever I watch him I feel slightly irritated.

Salty language in travel show honoring indigenous cuisine.

Jul 9, 2020 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review…

Uncharted is thoroughly entertaining, mostly because Ramsay's such an uncouth personality, and the Kiwis he's set up with are so laid-back.

Aug 12, 2019 | Full Review…

Purely as a travelogue, though, the series has plenty to recommend it, particularly with the emphasis on sustainability, local sourcing, nose-to-tail eating and the wisdom of ancestral peoples.

Aug 7, 2019 | Rating: 3.5/5 | Full Review…

Ramsay shows a more humble side in Uncharted, but the show is more about adventure and food than the people he's visiting. And that's OK. Just don't expect it to go any deeper.

Jul 23, 2019 | Full Review…

Uncharted showcases a lighter side of Ramsay's personality, trading in his fiery temper for gleeful exuberance as he explores new cultures.

Jul 17, 2019 | Full Review…

The show is a true love letter to foods of the world and much of it is sold by the enthusiasm of Ramsay that is the most joyous and exuberant he's been on television in quite some time.

Great show that embodies everything that Gordon does well. Embracing the cultures of different places and making it super entertaining and a fun watch. Would strongly recommend to everyone

    Shameful knockoff of Bourdain's show
  • Jul 19, 2020
Great show. I only watched it when I got Disney+, which turned out to be very enjoyable.

Hey RT, what's up with your 'TV Listings' ??? It's just said 'Saturday Night Live' & 'Gordon Ramsy' have been on for Saturday, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday (?) Check it out for yourselves > I'm sure a lot of people are going to start going elsewhere for their TV listings soon...,.....not unlike myself.

This show is very fun to watch. Gordon does very well as immersion and respect of local cultures, and provides a fascinating blend of travel, culture, and of course food!

This show is amazing, and is my favorite Gordon Ramsay show yet. For someone so talented and experienced, he comes across as someone who acts like he knows everything and in many cases he does, but it makes him in previous shows as a little vain or haughty, regardless of whether he earned that level of superiority (which he did). Its fun to see him take a backseat for once and learn things even he didn't know and hasn't experienced yet. He shows a deep respect for people and culture, and learning deep rooted tradition. For some who see him as manic, others see as passionate, lively, downright real, and above all humble. I was also pleasantly surprised, considering its on Disney+ and National Geographic is now owned by Disney, that the show doesn't censor anything besides curse words (probably a good thing considering Gordon cusses like a sailor), what I mean is they show every step, Gordon hunting with a rifle, field dressing meat, and preparing the food after.

Great views by national geographic coupled with the culinary art by Gordon. Great series that I hope lives on.
  • Aug 19, 2019
I love everything Ramsey does, and this is no exception. If you only know him for yelling and cursing, turn off Hells Kitchen and watch anything else he's done because he's a genuine guy. The visuals of the places he visits are just stunning, and its very entertaining seeing all the peoples he's meeting.

It is entertaining and it shows a more humble side of Gordon, one that we haven't seen in any other show until today. Recommended if you are in love with international cuisines and cultures.
