The producers are trying to put forth the idea that McCollum shouldn’t necessarily be the object of pity, but... the only impression we got from the super-slick production was the only thing McCollum was a victim of was her own poor life choices. Rosemary O @RT96353365 02/03/2025 Skeptical about the research given that two episodes in they are playing Colombian Cumbia, when introducing us to Peru. Lazy production. I found it ironic the main character had no idea where Peru was and the a WHOLE TEAM of producers/writers Netflix -etc put a traditional Colombian genre AND song to introduce us to Peru!! We may be in the same continent but each country has its specific traditions, genres of music and culture!! The "reward" for volunteering to help the lethal trade in illegal drugs, and then lying about it and declining to help the authorities afterwards, should not be a book deal, a TV series contract, and buckets of social media followers.
