Critic Consensus: A high concept gone silly, Making History makes the grade with contemporary humor for historical themes and a funny, cartoonish execution of a serialized plot.

News & Interviews for Making History: Season 1
Fox's Making History is 50% cool show, 50% missed opportunity. It's not comedy for the ages, but it tries hard.
Every once in a while broadcast television manages to cough up a sly fluffball of a sitcom, something that looks thoroughly silly but also manages to bring some sting when it wants. "Making History" is just such a sly fluffball.
Making History doesn't get everything right. But the series' principal trio commit themselves fully, with Meester particularly fresh and appealing as a transplanted colonial having the time of her life as a newly liberated woman.
A joyful, self-aware comedy that falls squarely under the "don't worry if it makes sense" approach to time travel stories.
