Muniz, as the grown-up Malcolm, is terrific. So is Kaczmarek as Lois. And Cranston, as Hal, goes through so many broad comedy pitfalls and pratfalls that he's like a Tex Avery cartoon character.

It picks up and carries the storyline seamlessly and is the familiar comfort and relatable chaos of life we all need. It brings humor and positivity to talk our mundane lives. Sitcoms are not as popular as they once were and having a classic come to our new generation of viewing and giving the original viewers a place to come back to is what I think we all need.

Ii gave this new Malcolm in the Middle remake 1 star because I found it very disappointing. The original series had a unique family-centered humor that many viewers could enjoy, but this version feels very different in tone and content. In my opinion, the remake includes too much profanity, mature/explicit material, and social/political messaging that feels forced rather than naturally written into the story. Instead of feeling like a fun family comedy, it seems to be aimed at a specific modern agenda, which may not appeal to longtime fans of the original show. Overall, I was hoping for something closer to the spirit of the original Malcolm in the Middle, but this remake did not feel family-friendly or enjoyable to me. I would not recommend it for viewers expecting the same kind of humor and charm the original series had.
