Prosecutor and former defense attorney Marcia Clark heads this docuseries, which sees her exploring high-profile crimes in the U.S. that have remained unsolved or ended in controversial outcomes. Clark concentrates on the cases' critical first 48 hours, a time when assumptions made and truths buried often cause investigations to run askew. She sifts through evidence presented in each file, visits significant locations and conducts interviews with key players to try to uncover new leads and find the truth behind how and why these crimes happened. The death of Casey Anthony's daughter Caylee; the murder of actor Robert Blake's wife Bonny Lee Bakley; the disappearance of Drew Peterson's wife Stacy; and the death of Federal Bureau of Prisons intern Chandra Levy are among the cases studied.

03/31/2020 Fascinating true crime series. I hope there's a Season 2 See more 08/25/2019 Pretty damn good. But nothing changes what happened and how the cases proceeded. Over all, really shows all the faults the police/ district attorneys made during these cases. But I loved the style and it wasn't redundant See more 06/16/2019 I cant wait for the second season. See more 04/28/2018 Nothing to see here, move along people... I could have sworn marcia clark's cachet was, well... what cachet? like - why is she hosting anything other than a cooking show on how to epically fail at making a souffle - to match her epic failure in the courtroom oh so many years ago... but her we are, with ms clark in full emo-regalia hosting a true life crime drama that is as dramatic & enthralling as a teenager lamenting that birds are dying (look it up...) 3 episodes in & it is clear that what we have is a boring over-wrought show that over promises and most definitely under delivers. it's just like all those "do we have the answer" shows about the zodiac killer or jack the ripper - nothing new, no big reveals - hell, we don't even get to see a curtain, let alone behind one. Ms clark's delivery is as dry as as a martian plain, and far less interesting. You wait & wait for something compelling, something new - but all you get are marcia's gasps & widening eyes at the sun coming up - again! watching marcia & companion marvel suspiciously that "someone" is placing flowers at kathleen savio's grave is just gripping television, folks! I'll give it this much: there was one great interview with a lawyer on the drew peterson episode where clearly - that lawyer was very uncomfortable with the line of questioning. it was palpable & you definitely felt like you needed a shower after watching him. he personifies just what people hate about lawyers in his fleeting moments onscreen. it really was something to watch him squirm so uncomfortably. hence - the one star that i give the show. most of the blame lies squarely on the shoulders of its host - the rest on the much-ado-about-nothing nothing-burger material.
