I loved it. Well put together and believable characters.

Oof this character. Imagine if you took a mish mash of all the archetypes of "main character detective" from the US, then jumbled it up and put it through an awkwardization filter. Literally his presence on screen just screams fake. It is such a contrived character. I could not watch more than a few minutes of this. I love dark euro detective/crime shows, so it's not the genre. It's this character. The actor ruins the whole series.

I enjoyed watching the characters grow and change as difficult situations surround them. I believe that Kari's actor (Ville Virtanen) did a fantastic job at portraying a different line of thinking and processing of the human mind.

Anu Sinisalo was completely believable in her role as an ex-FSB agent. She really made the whole series much better than it would have been otherwise. The series is worth binging. The lead character is odd, but that's okay.

Best Scandinavian crime drama I have seen and I am a huge fan of the genre. Better even than the greats like The Killing and The Bridge.

I signed up here specifically to provide this review. Couldn't believe that this show gets such excellent ratings. The English dubbing has already been roundly and rightly criticized, but that's a trivial matter compared with the show's other faults. What about the incredibly clumsy direction? And the ceaselessly plodding script? Scenes that mean nothing, leaving you wondering WTF that was about. Stories that just end in a rush of off-screen revelations. There are another 2 seasons, but I've had enough. I only watched to the end of season 1 out of morbid fascination that anything could be so bad and yet win plaudits from everyone. Still can't figure it.

I had been looking forward to watching this series for a while on account of the genre, location and reviews but after season one I can't say that I am yet converted. The main character is tremendous in his technique, flawed in his people skills, although he moves the stories along in all sorts of ways that you don't expect, and the other members of the team similarly contribute to or detract from his direction, making for an intriguing mix. Then there is his family and the political intrigue of the area which all add to the development of the narrative, and that's without mentioning the aerial camerawork which is terrific. However, I found some of the plot lines confusing and then the crime is solved leaving me to think about what I have missed. Maybe it is me and I'll get into it during season two. Let's hope so. Give Sorjonen the benefit of some time as there is much to enjoy.

just finished the third season on Netflix. another one of the ones that would be better if we just heard them speak the native tongue it's done in, with english subtitles. the dubbing is funky. it's still a good show. if you don't like it after the first episode of the first season, give it a pass. i DID like that first episode.

Absolutely brilliant writing, not too much personal drama, great acting, can't wait for more.
