Following her breakup with boyfriend Tim, Kate, a wholesome Californian now living in England, invites her platonic friend Lee to move into her flat and share expenses, but what starts out as an easygoing relationship soon begins to drift into more complicated emotional waters -- which is complicated further by the fact that Lee happens to be Tim's best friend.

Blorengia M @Blorengia Jul 19 I've been a big fan of Not Going Out for years, we've recently been watching the repeats of older episodes, but this new series (14) is just not as good as previous ones. It's lacking the extra fun which was provided by the additional characters which we got to know from regular appearances: Originally there was Lee's friend Tim, his cleaner (played by the lovely Miranda Hart) and dim Daisy. Then Lee's dad (RIP) who was a great contrast to Lucy's parents, and the neighbours Toby and Anna. In this new series some episodes have extra characters but none are recurring so we don't get to feel the same rapport with them. I'm just not luvvin' it as much.
