Ewan McGregor effortlessly steps back into the role of the tormented Jedi Master, and his portrayal brings depth, weariness, and humanity to a character caught between guilt and duty. The show's exploration of Obi-Wan's inner conflict and his connection to past events is its greatest strength. Narratively, the series delivers high-stakes drama and several compelling moments, especially during its more intimate, character-driven scenes. However, it's not without flaws. Pacing issues, a few underwhelming side plots, and occasionally inconsistent writing prevent it from reaching its full potential. The visual from cinematic to slightly undercooked depending on the episode, and while the score is serviceable, it doesn't always match the emotional weight the story aims for. What Worked: Chow’s intimate blocking really lets the emotional stakes shine. McGregor completely carries the show, capturing a defeated man finding the light, elevated by John Williams’ new theme. Watching him struggle to forgive himself spoke to my Methodist beliefs, illustrating that grace and redemption are possible even when we fail the ones we love. The Cuts: Stretching a movie concept into six episodes meant the middle part really dragged for me with filler. Keeping it spoiler-free, some early foot-chases felt clunky and awkwardly staged. Also, the environments ended up feeling weirdly small and flat, lacking that massive galactic scale. Verdict: A deep character study that trips over its pacing.
