What to Know

Critics Consensus

President Curtis may be a more experimental spin-off of Rick and Morty but its off-the-wall humor and wacky story beats make it a mega meta hit.

A lateral amount of weirdness here compared to its parent series, with inspired voice performances from Keith David, Jim Rash and Stephanie Beatriz. If you enjoy animated anarchy, it’s worth a peek. Go to Full Review

There’s something about David, the mellifluous voice of Ken Burns’ America, committing to every expletive-laced punchline that makes me absolutely giddy. Go to Full Review

Its characters talk a lot and very fast, with snappy, cynical, and quite cutting dialogue, generating a repertoire of insults worthy of being jotted down for use in real life. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Keith David brings presidential gravitas, comic pettiness, and effortless authority to a spinoff with real franchise potential. Go to Full Review

The Rick and Morty style is present but the performances from the cast, especially Keith David, gives President Curtis its own distinct flavour. A little galactic escapism, some timely themes and a lot of fun. Go to Full Review

Lexx . @RT90685441 Oct 2, 2026 President Curtis has me SNORT laughing 😭 Keith David’s delivery is perfect, and Curtis takes every ridiculous situation so seriously that it makes it even funnier. I went in expecting a few laughs and ended up laughing through whole episodes. This show is absolutely going in my rotation. See more Joe G @Review_Joe Oct 2, 2026 Decent spinoff and giggled at times, but can't beat Rick and Morty. President Curtis is better than some Rick and Morty seasons. We'll see as time goes on. See more Zachary S @Zach154 Sep 30, 2026 President Curtis turns out to be a solid Rick and Morty spinoff, delivering a fresh mission and obstacle for the president to tackle in each episode. Its off-the-wall humor and unpredictable story beats keep things consistently entertaining, while Keith David’s snappy, witty voice performance gives the character plenty of comedic charm. It doesn’t reinvent the formula, but it’s an enjoyable extension of the Rick and Morty universe. See more Joshua T @RT04095362 Sep 29, 2026 Keith David and the animation team behind President Curtis created a “perfect” Adult Swim show. By the books, it keeps that late night comedy cadence and adds in some polished fight scenes that scratch that anime itch. It didn’t get the budget for shadowing and CGI that Rick and Morty did this year but that adds to the charm. I would say it’s a fun blend of Scooby Doo and Venture Bros with just a hint of The Cleveland show (substitute the black jokes for Leprechaun jokes🤷🏾‍♂️). See more Harry H @Movies10 Sep 29, 2026 I definitely got more laughs outta this than the lastest season of Rick an Morty (which i still liked even if I didn't laugh alot) Top Season 1 episodes Triangle Purchase Hollow Knox Synths See more Austin M @RT74240664 Sep 28, 2026 The beginning is alright but after episode 4 it feels like the run out of ideas and just throw stuff at the wall, people’s view points change each episode and just go back to the views the had last episode. Some episodes feel like they actually thought two steps ahead but towards the end it just stops and feels like the same episode over and over See more Read all reviews
