While living in the barrio of Jalisco, Mexico, poor Teresa Mendoza falls in love with a member of a successful drug cartel, hoping the love will help her rise above the hopelessness she feels in her life. When it doesn't happen, she is forced to flee the country after her boyfriend is murdered. She seeks refuge in America, where she teams up with an unlikely person from her past to take down the leader of the drug ring that is after her. Teresa ends up starting her own drug empire, becoming one of the world's wealthiest women in the process. With her success, she discovers that money doesn't fix all of her problems, and she can only depend on herself if she wants to stay one step ahead of others and stay alive.

See more 04/29/2020 Ok. Honestly it wouldn't be fair to put zero star because this season was only "entertaining". What I mean by that is that every twist is quite predictable, you can just turn your brain. I felt like there were to many inconsistency (like the time zone between different country or the teleportation of different character across the world in different country). Also, something that I personally dislike were those flash forward at the star of a few episode revealing key information of what is to happened but also trying to mislead you. Its really poorly done and not very creative I believe. I was a little disappointed with the acting and the dialogue with the exception of El Santo who is quite charismatic and bring some novelty to the show. So I would recommend this series only if you have absolutely nothing else to watch. See more 04/26/2020 Sometimes, it's a little too much, there's never a moment of peace where things can just slow down a bit, we can't pick our breath up from an event that immediately after there's something major happening again. But, I still freaking love this show, maybe because it keeps my adrenaline up all the time. And, let's face it, Alice is just too sexy and beautiful for words!
