    Oof, that was Rotten.

    Meh, it passed the time.

    It’s good – I’d recommend it.

Critic Reviews for Sacred Lies Season 1

All Critics (4) | Top Critics (3)

After only two episodes in a 10-episode first season, there's always a chance for improvement -- especially with such strong surrounding components -- but so many opportunities have been wasted in just two episodes to inspire much prolonged hope.

Sacred Lies is a good, multilayered drama, although the vaguely supernatural quality to Minnow's past is milked a bit too hard.

With episodes running at an economical half-hour, Sacred Lies maintains a solid enough balance between withholding answers and laying groundwork for the mysteries ahead.

If this isn't the YA you thought you knew, well, I invite you to head down to your local public library, because Oakes is no outlier.

    Good story and emotionally engaging.

TO BEGIN WITH, THIS IS BASEd UPON A 'BROTHERS GRIM' FAIRYTALE 'THE HANDLESS MAIDEN'. THE PLATFORM ITSELF, FACEBOOK WATCH, MAKES IT LABORIOUS TO NAVIGATE, THE PAYOFF BEING THAT IT IS FREE however. THE QUALITY OF THE WRITING AND THE PERFORMANCES OF ALL THE MAIN CHARACTERS ARE INCREDIBLE. CREATED BY RAELLE TUCKER OF TRUE BLOOD, this SHOULD GIVE YOU A HINT THAT THIS IS NOT JUST A QUICKLY THROWN TOGETHER WEB SERIES, IT'S A SOPHISTICATED AND EXCEPTIONALLY EXECUTED, DIVERSELY CAST SERIES THAT DOESN'T FEEL FORCED. EACH CHARACTER FITS BRILLIANTLY IN THEIR ROLE. HELMED BY NEWCOMER ELENA KAMPOURIS OF GREEK WEDDING 2 AS THE LEAD PROTAGONIST. THE EPISODES ARE ONLY 30 MINUTES LONG FOR WHATEVER REASON, that is the only let down of this show. it’s not given enough time to explore the main characters more and give the audience more of an intimate connection with each character. all in all, this has been one of the best series on any platform this year and deserves more recognition than it’s getting, I hope you enjoy as much as I have.
