This anime series is set in a futuristic world following the conclusion of a massive war. During this time, many villages are terrorized by Nobuseri bandits, former samurai who integrated their living cells with machines during the war to become dangerous weapons that now appear to be more machine than man. A group of villagers, including young priestess Kirara, hires samurai to protect the village from the bandits. The samurai, men of skill and valor, are unique and not without their quirks, but they must come together to defend the helpless village.

Wylder K. @Wilduth Jul 17 Very good series, picked it up because of an anime sale and very glad I did. Never got a chance to experience Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai, so the story was pretty new to me. But it makes me wanna go back and watch the movie that inspired this series. Either way it was a very inventive retelling of a story with fun and interesting characters. Not to mention that the voice actor who plays Kikachu was All Might in my hero academia. See more Werner E @RT19475139 01/29/2023 One of the best anime I've ever seen. See more johnathon w @Hoppynsc 09/30/2020 First rate adaptation of Akira Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai" that probably rates as the best ever. The vocal cast is superb across the board, in both English and Japanese, while the show runners adapt the story for anime perfectly, mixing medieval action and steampunk perfectly, while expanding the story with a larger plot line involving the empire itself. They don't stray too far from the story, though, with the original seven samurai all matching their counterparts with modern updates. Simply superb across the board.
