Live from London, it's the UK version of the groundbreaking sketch series. Celebrity guest hosts join an ensemble of British comedians including Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi and Paddy Young to perform sketches, satirical news and video shorts. Each live episode also features a performance from a popular musical guest. From executive producer Lorne Michaels, "SNL" is widely considered a late-night institution, and the UK version continues its incomparable legacy with a distinctly British sensibility.

Without overthinking the formula, Saturday Night Live UK keeps things loose, confident, and more often funny than not, carving out a strong identity early on.

It needs to loosen up, which the subsequent Jamie Dornan episode thankfully did. Go to Full Review

At best it shows what it’s learnt from a half-century of its New York cousin; at worst it seems like tepid cosplay. Go to Full Review

It felt refreshing to see an ambition/piece of madness like retooling a legacy US brand for this septic isle even being attempted. It did not fail. And in the coming weeks, let’s hope, it can build towards real success. Go to Full Review

In terms of quality, SNL UK is really hitting its stride and seems to have found the ideal balance between a very American format and a very British comic sensibility. Go to Full Review

The first show was by no means a flawless comic masterpiece. Nonetheless, it was, at the very least, perfectly respectable. Go to Full Review

With a tried-and-true formula, SNL UK‘s cast most likely will find their voices and establish themselves as a separate entity, albeit with the same plusses and minuses that the American show has. Go to Full Review

No M @RT92255926 Apr 29 Whilst stilted in places, SNL UK is pushing the boundaries of British comedy in a delightful and fresh way. Like its US counterpart, not every sketch will land but when it does - it soars. Worth a watch, worth investing in and is a delight to tune in week after week. The true highlights lie in the show's Weekend Update section where two extremely strong hosts have grown in confidence week in and week out. Meanwhile, cast members like George Fouracres proves to be a comedic gem and can have you rolling on the floor laughing in just 45 seconds. The musical guests have been good and both the live and prerecorded sketches have a lot of humour in them. The show is able to please audiences with highbrow and lowbrow humour alike. Is it perfect? No. Is the original perfect? No. However, considering how formulaic a lot of comedy is - it's refreshing for SNL UK to push the boundaries as it is. Yes, it relies on an original format but still stands out against normal UK comedy. See more Mo W @Mowgli1985 Apr 27 Episode 5 was so far my favorite. Paula from Accounts sketch still has me laughing See more Jeff H @RT70835718 Apr 26 Absolutely brilliant. See more Paul D @Duppers Apr 26 Seen everyone for awhile but can’t get into it, we don’t find it funny at all See more Carrie S @RT10357453 Apr 19 As American, who loves British comedy our SNL is always gonna be hit or miss but seeing a new twist on an American classic is refreshing, and I honestly cheer on these new comedians and hope for their success. I find them entertaining and see so much potential and I wish them and SNL UK all the best!!!! See more Garry H @Talkativesprout Apr 18 just awful...NO! The cringe fest was unabating about as funny as a methane leak in a mine staffed by children. Whoever commissioned this after it was piloted should be tried for crimes against humanity.
