You can tell Netflix was expecting this to have additional footage, but the SEC ran out of gas at the end of the season. The result is a series that, despite its subject, fails to capture the inherent drama and excitement of SEC football, making it surprisingly dull. Going in, you don't realize the show's going to hyperfocus on some of the least interesting and consequential programs, meanwhile completely ignoring Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Ole Miss, and only give Florida half an episode. There were probably a dozen games in the SEC alone that defined the national football landscape in 2024 and the show only focuses on 1 of them: Vandy-Alabama. That's it. I don't really understand who this is for...Any fans of SEC football are not really going to get anything out of this they do not already know, and non-football fans just are not really going to find interest in it. All the interviewees that aren't coaches or player are really bad and I caught at least one just straight up wrong piece of information. "Auburn was undefeated in 2014" Which is just wrong it was 2004, which means dozens of people that were producers watched that and no one knew enough to correct it.
