On her birthday, Clary Fray discovers a surprise concerning her life. The teenager is not who she thinks she is -- she comes from a long line of human-angel hybrids, called Shadowhunters, who hunt demons. After her mother is kidnapped, Clary is thrust into the world of demon-hunting. Clary relies on mysterious Jace and fellow hunters Isabelle and Alec to help her navigate the dark world. While living in this new world among creatures like vampires and werewolves, Clary's best friend Simon helps her uncover answers that could help her find her mother. The fantasy show is based on a series of young adult books by Cassandra Clare.

Shadowhunters has been an incomprehensible show, one that never offered enough to pull the uninitiated in. Miss E Nov 23 This was absolutely awful, I don’t know how it has 4 seasons See more Isla C 07/07/2024 I read the books first, which i really recommend ( Shadowhunters: mortal instruments by Cassandra Claire) and while there were many differences they still managed to weave in all the big plot ideas and still made it interesting. I was really hooked and overall really enjoyed it, i binged it whenever i could. The first season took a while to get into because of the effects, but these dramatically improved in the other seasons as the designers and actors got more comfortable in their roles and their audience grew!
