Critic Reviews for Star vs. the Forces of Evil Season 1

All Critics (5) | Top Critics (1)

Star Vs. [the Forces of Evil] is a lot of fun, combining Sailor Moon with high school dramadies, getting surprisingly deep at times.

Apr 30, 2019 | Full Review…

Combatively silly, morally complex and full of philosophical absurdity, [Star vs. the Forces of Evil] is the smart, weird, politically engaged cartoon you'd never known it was possible to wish for, let alone to hope to see on Disney.

Apr 30, 2019 | Full Review…

The show has stylised and distinctive artwork, it's like Japanese and Western animation went to the same party, hit it off and ended up in a wardrobe together.

If unpredictability and fantasy are your kids' tastes, then Star's adventures will keep them entertained.

Apr 30, 2019 | Rating: 3/5 | Full Review…

It's a show that leans slightly more towards absurdity and wackiness, with quick, snappy action and energetic performances, playing against the bubbly aesthetics of "princess" tropes.

Audience Reviews for Star vs. the Forces of Evil: Season 1

  • Jun 03, 2019
With great animation and voice acting, Star vs the Forces of Evil is an enjoyable ball of energy with heart to spare.

the animation as rubbery but that grew on me, the characters were great like Marco trying to act cool for Jackie, Star adapting to earth culture and ludo was just the best villain even tho toffee was the main villain in the end. each episode didn't feel repeated, unlike steven universe where it feels like every other episode felt the same. I love this first season so ye its a chicken nugget out of 10
