The stylised visual palette speaks to Maul’s tortured extremes, which is helpful because the writing doesn’t add a great deal to a character who has most often been a menacing adversary. It’s one for the dedicated fans.

I've been a Star Wars content fan my entire life and Maul-Shadow Lord is at the top of my favorite list! LucasFilm Animation knocked this project out of the park; the very unique and cool paint brush backgrounds, the kind of wet & jagged light saber blades in this noir setting was mesmerizing and had me on the edge of my seat each week. I love the dual episode drop each week, and I have probably rewatched this series at least 10-12 times already. I almost prefer the animated versions of Star Wars content in this space. Just fantastic stuff and I can't wait to see where this series takes us in season 2!

Great animation, Great new characters, and improved and gave Maul a much deeper story and personality we hadn't seen before. Very entertaining show, I will look forward to Season 2.

This was exceptionally written. The story sheds a lot of info on what happened after Maul was thought to be killed. Hopefully a live action comes from this!

The animation, art style, and sound design are all ridiculously good. Visually, it’s stunning, and the darker tone fits Maul perfectly. Everything feels polished, cinematic, and genuinely immersive. What impressed me most though was that the story actually lived up to the visuals. The writing and character development were excellent, and Maul was handled brilliantly-complex, intense, and fascinating the whole way through. When Star Wars gets both the technical side and storytelling this right, it’s hard to beat.

I love this Star Wars. This and Andor are what I want to see more of... dark, gritty, raw. Characters actually feel real, the world actually feels real. It is not just about the Dark/Light... there is a lot of Grey. Keep this Star Wars universe coming!
