The sight of a light saber coming to life has become about as thrilling as turning on a table lamp. Go to Full Review

The performances overall are more dynamic, the writing more engaging than usual for Disney+, which keeps the series from dragging like its predecessors. Go to Full Review

While The Acolyte is mostly able to skirt by given how well its cast sells the emotional context of each scene, the degree of narrative withholding Headland is attempting here threatens to undermine a lot of this otherwise strong character work. Go to Full Review

I enjoyed The Acolyte, and once it finished, I couldn’t wait to do a complete rewatch to spot the connections, the references, the foreshadowing, and all the details I overlooked the first time around. Go to Full Review

We got incredible, multi-dimensional characters who made us feel all the emotions and whom we’re going to miss. I can’t remember the last time I fell so instantly in love with new characters. I’m so glad The Acolyte exists and that we got to see it. Go to Full Review

Aaron A @Aajoal Mar 6 The writing and acting for this series clearly demonstrates that Disney lacks the necessary skills to manage its studios. It would be in Disney's best interests to remove The Acolyte from its platform and label it as non-canon to the Star Wars universe. See more Jon E. @jes30 Mar 3 Great series. Eccentric, weird, creepy, almost has like a 1960s Japan B-movie ghost story style. Would like to see a sequel. I think if you liked the Sith story line lead up to The Revenge of the Sith then this series has the potential to interest you for sure. And then there was Yoda…. See more Shark F. @SharkFin Feb 20 I defended this franchise longer than most relationships last. I showed up hopeful. I stopped after 1.5 episodes feeling like I just watched someone rearranged the millennium falcon with IKEA instructions in a different language, missing half of the pages. I didn't turn it off, my spirit did that for me. See more Don'tForget T @Dont_Forget_The_Hook Feb 11 Some time after watching this show, I was scrolling through the "Good vs. Evil" section of Disney+, curious as to what kinds of releases they considered to be solely about the struggle of good vs. evil. When I found The Acolyte, I laughed out loud. I am not a fan of how this show was done at all. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of thought put into how it was made, or how the universe of Star Wars actually worked. On the surface, I could be convinced of lots of things. But when an "epic" moment in the show has me chuckling at how bad it is, I feel like that’s not a great sign. The biggest problem, in my opinion, is the issue of the main character. Is Osha a good guy? That’s what they want us to think, right? But she ends up siding with Qimir, who is definitely a bad guy… or maybe not. Oh, and Master Venestra is certainly one of the villains… I think? This is a massive issue with the story that I honestly can't stand. I won't repeat what other people have said already, though. See more Xao R @XaoRalas Feb 2 I wanted this to be more and I find it surprising that the writers couldn't come up with a better story for this great cast. I watched it per week, and the story got a bit boring, especially with all the fillers. But if you watch it in one go, I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy yourself. It's a pity they cancelled it, and in my view they should've brought more of the story they planned to tell, probably in season 2 that will never come. The show looks pretty good. They use a lot of practical effects which makes the show look 'small' sometimes, which in my view wasn't the right choice, especially with the budget they had. But the lightsabers and general effects were quite impressive. See more Robert R. @CheddarWhite Feb 2 I rewatched it again a year later. So many good performances and fights, but it doesn’t make any sense. See more Read all reviews
