matthias s @Thescreenasvor Aug 6 Season 1 of *Superman: The Animated Series* earns a respectable 71%. As a fan of the comics, it’s clear the creators understood the character, offering a faithful and thoughtful adaptation of the Man of Steel. The animation is clean, the voice cast strong—Tim Daly brings warmth and confidence to Superman, while Clancy Brown’s Lex Luthor is a standout. While some episodes lean too heavily on standalone plots and underwhelming villains, the world-building is solid, and the tone captures Superman’s optimism without veering into camp. It may not reach the depth of *Batman: TAS*, but it's a strong and promising start. See more Tyler L @Tyler131 03/11/2025 Great season to a great show with great stories and great villains. See more Graig D @RT45730766 08/05/2024 "Superman: The Animated Series" is a standout entry in the DC Animated Universe (DCAU). The animation quality is exceptional, capturing the essence of Superman's world with vibrant visuals and fluid action sequences. The voice acting is top-notch, with Tim Daly delivering a memorable performance as Superman and Clancy Brown's Lex Luthor standing out as a formidable adversary. The storytelling is consistently strong, balancing action with character development and exploring a range of engaging narratives. As a sophomore DCAU series, it successfully builds on the foundation laid by "Batman: The Animated Series," offering fans an exciting and thoughtful continuation of the animated DC universe. See more Alan T @Alan527 03/16/2024 Really good season in introducing Superman. A lot of the villains were just as evil as the Batman ones. See more johnathon w @Hoppynsc 04/04/2022 Solid beginning to the series that does a great job re-establishing the classic character, though doesn't quite blow you away like the first season of "Batman: The Animated Series". The vocal cast is excellent across the board, while the show runners do a great job updating Superman while bringing in the larger DC Universe. The standout episodes are "The Last Son of Krypton", one of the best depictions of Superman's origin ever, along with "The Main Man", which brought in Lobo. Not a perfect launch but a hint of the greatness to come. See more 03/02/2022 The DCAU's reputation of making stories of incredible quality while remaining true to the core of the source material is well earned, as shown by this series. A must watch for Superman fans and a perfect introduction to the character. See more Read all reviews
