What to Know

Critics Consensus

Ten Percent is an inferior remake of its French inspiration, but a glossy roster of guest stars and budding ensemble chemistry hint that this office comedy can eventually recapture the magic.

It all feels wrong until you realise that meek cavilling is how London media types set about being ruthless, and suddenly the show reveals its teeth. Go to Full Review

I will, somewhat grudgingly, be sticking with Ten Percent. It’ll just have to do until -- dépêchez-vous -- season five of Call My Agent! finally arrives. Go to Full Review
Matthew Gilbert Boston Globe 05/20/2022
It’s not bad, with a strong cast and a group of guest stars including Helena Bonham Carter and Kelly Macdonald who evoke some of the spirit -- if not the brutal satire -- of the original series. Go to Full Review
Lynden Barber Limelight 05/31/2022
For this viewer, Ten Per Cent, while perfectly watchable, is not as strong as the French original, which, if you haven’t seen it, I’d recommend you watch first. Go to Full Review

Here we have all the pieces of a great series: The dialogues are well written, the timing is correct and the performances are outstanding. But they don’t add up to an interesting whole, I guess because it’s not as effective as a satire as the original. Go to Full Review
James Walton The Spectator 05/05/2022
Gone are the ruthless Gallic types prepared to fight properly dirty, and in their place come a bunch of people who only ever seem as if they’re acting tough -- and not very convincingly at that. Go to Full Review

Niki M @RT49538820 08/09/2023 On its own merit it is a perfectly sweet and watchable comedy-drama about lives and loves in a London talent agency. But it lacks the astringency and complexity of the French original and the most interesting thing about it - famous people playing themselves and not always in a self-flattering way - is not original. Watch it, by all means. But do yourself a favour and watch the French version as well. See more 07/22/2022 We loved this series. Very touching and funny. It was an easy watch and wrapped up nicely in the end. See more 06/25/2022 This show is a great example of how appauling casting and poor scripts make you wonder how it ever got made . Jack Davenport is best left on stage so he can overact and hope no one noticies and the rest of the cast are instantly forgettable. the guest stars are poorly used and the storylines are infantile at best . Lets hope it doesn't make it to season 2 See more ginger b @RT32940192 06/23/2022 Very funny. I actually prefer this to the French show that's so popular (maybe because I recognize more of the celebrity cameos). Sailed through all 8 episodes of Season 1. See more Dave C @RT09838700 05/18/2022 How is this being slated so much by viewers?! I don't understand… It's witty, satirical at times, dry, oddball, and full of relatable, real life drama. The casting is wonderful, and the guest stars work soooo well playing themselves. The reserved, pent-up, unsaid elements to each character build the tension, and often enhance and intensify the comedy… as well as the emotion. Really enjoyed this! See more Willi P @Uspattys 05/18/2022 The original was quirky, funny, beautifully observed and sexy. The Brit version is clunky, hammy, ill cast apart from a couple of people and definitely un sexy. Why they tried to copy the original so exactly is so risky and so awkward goodness knows why they did it..🤪. However the concept has (for me) huge appeal as its lovely to see a part of London I know so well and some of the actors I am very fond of no matter what they do so will keep watching. We'll see...
