Jun 12, 2022I came across the Finder on Disney+, and lo and behold there WAS a series on Disney that didn't suck. Then I realized it was some cancelled Fox show from 10 years ago they picked up. Unlike Disney shows, this show has likeable characters and watchable plotlines. Until the series cliffhanger, all the shows were episodic and stood on their own like a Columbo mystery episode. It was reminiscent of shows of that era like House or Bones (which I guess this show spun off from? Don't know never saw the breakoff episode) where there is a brilliant but troubled and eccentric protagonist that figures out stuff the normies can't. It is fun to watch, and the supporting cast is likeable too. Duncan is actually given a role here that is more than 'stand around and look intimidating'. On the negative side, it is sometimes a little too silly, and all the prop mock up scenes were a bit much. Doc Brown in Back to The Future did the same thing, but those were explicitly played for laughs. The whole concept of a 'Finder' seemed a bit off too, like all the other investigator roles had already been done to death, but nobody ever did a 'finder' before. Weird.

May 23, 2022Was a lot better than I was expecting, and in this current environment we are in Pandemic-wise, it was good to watch something that wasn't so serious. The actors were quirky, fun, and it was easy to watch especially sitting at home working all day. BRING IT BACK. and it is perfect on Disney+

Oct 21, 2019I'm only writing this to balance out the frankly unfair critic reviews. I enjoyed The Finder a lot more than Bones, and it remains one of my favorite TV shows to this day. A real shame it was cancelled after just one season.
-
Sep 10, 2016Honestly, not that bad. Michael Clarke Duncan has to pretty much hold the show up but it could be worst.
-
Jul 04, 2016Poignant, quirky - well acted and great story.
-
Mar 03, 2015Critics that write for Rotten Tomatoes are too full of themselves, go by the Audience Score if you want to know if it is worth watching....this is a great show on the order of Bones which it is a spin off of.
