Critic Reviews for The Addams Family Season 1
All Critics (6) | Top Critics (1) | Fresh (6) | Rotten (0)
The Addams Family stands apart from the rest for its beatnik haunted house music; its elegant costuming, makeup and set design; the quality of its ensemble acting.
They're still goth icons.
This throwback black and white series is a total hoot-as long as you don't believe it when it calls itself a family show. The show is relatively harmless-but its humor can be pretty dark
The Addams Family is nothing short of luminous. It is superbly cast, brilliantly acted, and so rebellious in its tone and tendencies that it makes for a perfect post-millennial treat.
It's this ability to challenge the perception of normalcy that may be The Addams Family's greatest strength.
The characters are likable and generous, and their behavior, although weird, isn't intended to cause harm.
