The last thing I’ll tell you about season two of 'The Last Thing He Told Me' is it wouldn’t hurt to skip it. Go to Full Review

Garner is, unsurprisingly, the MVP here because the show understands she is most engaging as an actress and as a series lead when she isn’t given a chance to catch her breath. Go to Full Review

This only works if you can suspend disbelief and just go with the fact that these are both the smartest/most-talented people you’ve ever met and the stupidest. Go to Full Review

Jennifer Garner and Judy Greer reuniting in this mystery thriller is so good. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau & Jennifer Garner's chemistry is incredible. Go to Full Review

We’re still a little annoyed that the second season of The Last Thing He Told Me seems to serve up a thrill-light nothingburger of a story, but we still want to see the chemistry between Garner and Rice, which is the best thing about the series. Go to Full Review

How strange it is to say, then, that this inessential season, based on Laura David’s just published last year sequel novel, is a step up [from season 1]. Go to Full Review

myspencer50 T @RT65413091 5d If ever there was a show that did not need a Season 2, it is this one. But not because season 1 was bad. No, the opposite. Season One was perfect. The ending was perfect and that's where it should have stopped. Now, Season 2 is so contrived, so ridiculous I went from Episode 1, 2 to the last episode just to wrap it all up so I wouldn't have to watch anymore. I heard no more seasons, so that was definitely the right decision. The 3 stars are because I am a Jennifer Garner fan, and after Season one beign perfect, I couldn't bare to give her only 1 star. See more Andrei D @RT74856639 Apr 28 It does not get smarter but it ups the stakes, working hard to secure an ending that reveals stuff and makes sense See more R T @RT59535910 Apr 26 This is not Jennifer Garner's best performance but I feel that David Rosen's work has not been properly recognized. He is brilliant as the grandfather. He is the anchor and the most believable character. Far too much emphasis on "Bails," the teenage daughter. She is not smarter than the adults - kind of weird that the adults remain silent while she figures everything out. This is the basic problem, either a writing or directing mistake. Jennifer Garner is one-note = concerned. No chemistry with husband even though they keep kissing, more cringe-worthy than believable. He doesn't speak enough. It appears Jennifer Garner was distracted with something else and always looks lost, not interesting, though I've never been bored by her so the flaw lies elsewhere, in the direction or perhaps not good chemistry. The relationship with the daughter far too forced. Still it's a good series which I recommend. Great locations, expert cinematography. It deserves more than 2 or 3 stars. See more William K @Koolbill Apr 23 This series started out very very slowly - to the extent that the plot was so interlaced and complicated that it took a while to sort it all out. I was not enamered of MS. Garner's portrayal in this role. For some reason, we stuck with it, and by Season 2, Episodes 7, 8 and 9, we were hooked and the ending in particular was very very compelling. See more Eric N @EricNix Apr 22 It's interesting how the critics preferred season 2 to season 1 - but the RT audience said the opposite. In this case, I'm going to side with the critics. Although it's been a while since I actually watched season 1, I found myself more engaged with the action in the second season. The characters were more fleshed out and a lot of the dangling questions from the first season were actually answered. Although you still have to suspend your sense of disbelief a few times, I was pretty much hooked from the first episode. I enjoyed how the series reached a positive resolution at the end (no spoilers here), I was surprised that the last scene teased a third season. If that's actually in the works, I guess it means Laura Dave plans to write a third book. That would be okay with me and I'd definitely be up for another season of this show. Solid entertainment and enough suspense to keep me hooked. Sign me up! See more Tiemen S @Dutch1inAZ Apr 22 Omg, the writing is so horrific that poor Miss Garner has nothing left but her furrowed brow and pouty lips to lean on. The irrational decisions made by the two female leads are infuriating but then, perhaps they’re a welcome distraction from the glaring plot holes. I can’t believe this writer is compensated for her work. See more Read all reviews
