Iain M @RT26443232 Jul 20 Light and shallow. Stunning scenery (Malta it seems not France!) and brilliant classic Citroen, a light hand for plot and writing but some very ham acting … especially the 2 old actors Sue Holderness and Robin Askwith. Mind you it’s probably worth watching for the wig he’s wearing! It’s got more acting ability! Plots are predictable as is the writing. Neither will tax you so it can be a relaxing watch if you want to finish the cryptic crossword. It’s good to watch I find at bed time as it’s a sure fire for sending you to sleep! See more Ted B. @Movieaddicted Jan 17 3.5 stars; A neat light-mystery Series. A British version of "Murder She Wrote". I guess the fact that the co-Writers appear as characters helps with the desired character portrayals. See more S T @SMgolf Dec 24 Season 1 is good but season 2 is terrible with so much gay and lesbian stuff See more Ittay1 S @Ittay11 Dec 11 The only real mystery was who would choose to make such a poor, lackluster, and hence pathetic series? But reading the credits solved the mystery - the series was produced by the Malta Government, and filmed entirely in Malta - a tiny city-state island in the Mediterranean Sea. Which, due to it's size and location (with no offense to its fine people), has very little to show-off to international audiences. And indeed, this series looks and feels like a forced attempt to make something out of literally nothing, a cheap but pretentious mock-up on a low budget. The series takes place in a "French" village occupied by British people, including the "Madame" herself. Why not Maltese characters, village, narratives, culture?! Or as Mr. White herself puts it: "This is one of the worst fakes I've ever seen ... And the name "Rolex" is printed, not even engraved ... Fake? What do you mean fake? ... I've seen better copies on Tommy Field Market. ... I would never morally sell tat like that." See more Martin T @RT29557733 Sep 20 The Madame Blanc Myteries TV series is mysterious in one respect only - how did these awful programmes get made. Poorly acted and written, and above all completely inauthentic - has anyone involved in this production ever visited or read a book about the country. Utterly terrible in almost every respect - half a star is extremely generous! See more Read all reviews
