Michael T Oct 23 The premise is “An Idiot Abroad” but if Karl got to stay at the world’s most luxurious hotels. Levy is characteristically charming and endearing and it is nice to spend time with him. And bravo to him for convincing Apple to fly him around the world and stay at exclusive luxury resorts…provided he kind of pretends to be a bit nervous about like new experiences and bugs and stuff. But this is boring as a travel show. We're supposed to surmise that Levy has never left his house, because according to him, he's never done anything he's presented with, and doesn't like anything he's presented with. He goes to the Maldives to a tropical beach resort, and doesn't want to (and doesn't) do anything related to water, not even the private pool at his own resort suite where without getting wet he fishes the floating breakfast tray out of the pool the butler left for him? So we basically see little to nothing of what the Maldives experience actually is. So why watch? Another example is getting into a tour helicopter the pilot gives a safety spiel including a personal floatation device under the seat and Levy conveys that this completely new to him, so I guess he's never flown on a flight anywhere ever?
