Chiropractor and single father Alan Harper lives in a beachfront house with divorced Internet billionaire Walden Schmidt, who bought the house following the untimely death of Alan's brother, Charlie. As they acclimate to their living arrangement, the tightly wound Alan finds himself taking on a mentor role with Walden, whose lifelong dependence on being taken care of has left him a bit naive. Despite his unsuccessful romantic history, Alan also tries to help Walden overcome his limited experiences with dating. Berta, a sharp-tongued, unapologetic housekeeper, is also featured in the series.

Maybe Two and a Half Men has simply lost its luster in the wake of Sheen-gate. Its departed star cast a huge, tiger-blood-shaped shadow - which is probably why the show is determined to keep airing plots that revolve around the absent Charlie. Regardless of what his antics done off set, the show was never gonna progress without him. The plot made sense living in his brothers house after a divorce. But living with a stranger who buys his dead brothers house like it's somehow normal makes no sense. Ashton Kutcher actually wasn't bad the role and plot didn't make sense and the attempts at callbacks to Charlie and memories should of been enough of a hint See more 12/19/2021 It's a shame. Ever since Charlie lost his mind with Foodfight, as well as encountered alcohol/drug problems, Two and a half men never was the same. What made Two and a Half Men so good was the sarcastic/crude humor that Charlie Sheen gave. That humor would blend beautifully with Alan's moral backbone and wimpy demeanor. Opposites attract, and Walden was not an opposite. Walden ruined the show in my opinion, he didn't have any sarcastic overtone and witty remarks like Charlie Sheen. Thus, nothing could blend. Sure, the character didn't have to be Ren Hoek (voiced by Billy West) but he needed to be sarcastic enough so the show wouldn't feel empty.
