Unforgotten is in most ways a happily formulaic British mystery, with the ritualistically cryptic introduction of suspects at the beginning of each season and the nimble hopping between plot lines that generates many small cliffhangers in each episode. Go to Full Review

Whether you stick around to find out how the four suspects are connected or to enjoy the performances and plot twists, may depend on your political stripes. Go to Full Review

It's a treat to see such virtuosity, even if my head is spinning. Go to Full Review

Chris Lang’s writing seems to have slipped a little below the high standards established in Nicola Walker’s leading role heyday. Yet there’s a Zen-like acceptance to the way that Bhaskar delivers his lines. Go to Full Review

Patricia C @RT07650127 Oct 6 I have to echo what others have said: the political proselytizing is heavy-handed to the point of absurdity. I thought season 5 was bad in this regard, but this season is even worse—it felt like political re-education camp. I am actually a left-leaning person, but I still found this to be over the top (i.e., right-wing people are "thick" and violent). When are these TV writers going to realize that they are doing more harm than good with this simplistic and bombastic political posturing? They aren’t changing anyone’s mind but instead are contributing to the huge backlash. Please stop—and get back to telling a good story. There are also the implausible elements--do they really not know how difficult it is to dismember a body? That part was laughable. Oh well. It used to be a good show. See more Carrie H @RT83089526 Sep 23 I’m going to finish it only because I loved earlier seasons. But! The overload of in your face themes is embarrassing: Covid Illegal immigration Treatment of people on the spectrum Abused women Right leaning views Racism against brown people on dating apps I’m sure there were more. Hard to keep track of all the preaching going on. See more Eric R @RT86895922 Sep 16 The plot was intricate but believable, and the acting as usual was excellent. I wasn't that fond of season 5, but I thought this one was as good as the earlier seasons, maybe better. Right-wingers may be unhappy that the plot displays sympathy and understanding for the difficulties faced by immigrants and same-sex couples, but it didn't bother me, and it didn't detract from the story line. See more jmspls7 T @RT58947748 Sep 7 It seems like the political aspects of Season 6 turned some reviewers off. I thought it was an important aspect to the story. Terrific season. I look forward to season seven! See more Gail D @RT55055206 Sep 6 This episode is rather messy. I don’t particularly care for the political story line. It was distracting from the show’s general premise—a cold case murder. Too many story lines to weave together . See more Jeannette G @RT30733155 Aug 28 I have loved this series forever. But at the end of this season, I wondered why no forensic science had been applied to this case. This would have been a one or two episode season if someone had thought to get the luminal out in the first episode. Then there is the issue of the murderer. How did this woman dismember her husband? How did she get him out of the house? How did she heave his body around and into the water. It begs all kinds of questions. Bummer. See more Read all reviews
