Who Were We Running From is an odd duck of a series, from Bambi's kid-chic outfits to Mother's inexplicably rude behavior to nearly everyone she encounters. Go to Full Review

Teddy B @RT24440346 03/06/2025 Too many unanswered questions. See more Mehriban S @RT86147072 07/14/2024 I hope hotel management in Turkiye hotels do not treat hotel personnel so badly and humilating as it is shown in the film! See more R D T @RT05158801 05/06/2024 It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. The mother/daughter dynamic was codependent and just weird. There were some exciting moments and the scenery in the movie was nice, but aside from that, there were a LOT of holes in the storyline and plenty of WTF moments. The character development was piss poor and the ending was lacking. This series has potential but the writing and character development definitely needs work. See more Marian M @marianmolinaro 08/23/2023 I absolutely loved this show! Watched the whole thing in two days. Riveting! See more Djielle T @Djielle 05/21/2023 There is a Thelma and Louise, Butch and Sundance thing here of two charismatic but doomed persons on the run that is captivating. The narrow escapes, the beautiful locations, the luxury hotels, the mother-daughter bond, yes even the misanthropy(pinned on souls) makes this a guilty pleasure binge watch. The mother has an exotic, hypnotic, almost vampyr-like presence. Don't over think it, just flow with the "Bambi, it's time to go!" See more Tom B @RT50062843 04/06/2023 I cannot stand these shows produced in foreign countries where CENSORS or other government authorities dictate what can be portrayed. The religious undertones, the overt proselytizing of "good" versus "bad. How the looks of the woman and her child make them "weird", so obviously an issue to the snooty people in the dining room. Purposely sat at a small table in the middle of the fish bowl to be ridiculed and judged. The hotel clerks thinking they have a right to enter their "home" (the hotel room) to find "it." Which is never identified but one assumes money or drugs. The women who "... I know her, she is family." and then the police listening to her rambling about family crap like it was facts instead of drama from her small mind. They are being chased supposedly for having killed her parents, yet the father is alive as we find out. The police obviously did not investigate very well to not realize this minor detail. They police seem incompetent and then finally decide to let them die in some kind of a shoot out than apprehend them. Save the police having to do actual work. So I guess Turkey believes Mob Rule is allowable. The police are shown with their big weapons. Oh no! A 9 mm, parabelum round. 30 in the clip! It kills men instantly, "... image what it would do to a child or woman..." As if the physical carnage from a sub machine gun weapon would be different on the strong, manly men of Turkey, than poor weak children and women. The patriarchal society of Turkey is fully demonstrated by these examples. The idea that a rent-a-cop security guard would lock a child outside of a bank from her mother while he detains the mother for "something wrong with her." Just a odd show. I found myself sympathizing with the woman and her daughter. Take it for what it is worth. Interesting none the less. See more Read all reviews
