06/17/2019 My 6mo daughter stays quiet while its on and that is definitely a plus. The show itself isnt great but its kid's entertainment so I wasn't expecting a lot. There are a few logical plot holes that do my head in (like the implication that normal people don't know wish magic exists yet bianca uses it in front of her non magic friends and they don't question it at all) but the core message that you can't just wish problems away while encouraging imagination is a decent one. Bianca as a main character is much more bearable than the likes of peppa or bing, as she seems to always make the more mature choice in the end even if she struggles through the episode. The other kids can get on your nerves though, particularly the snooty Violet (She reminds me of Prunella from Aurthur) or the egotistical Oliver. Bob the bear can also be a bit cringe with all his rapping about random stuff. Bianca's best friend Penelope tends to get a bit flat and annoying at times as she has 2 main obsessions she mentions every episode she is in: pickles and horses. Seriously this is shoehorned into almost every interaction between her and the other kids, I would say to the writers to tone this down. By contrast, her friend Frank loves frogs but doesnt mention them constantly, and Laurel is into Ballet and is always wearing a ballet skirt, but doesnt mention ballet with every scene. The adults are bland and interchangeable and mainly serve to provide the lesson of the episode when Bob is not doing this. The wish magic premise itself is a bit of a crapshoot as it is a bit wasted in the episodes where Bianca is in the real world. Usually these episodes are used to demonstrate that bianca cant just magic her way out of a problem, but this is the majority of episodes. I could see it as a one or two episode per arc thing just to remind us, but instead we are stuck with lots of boring episodes centered around school. We hardly see wish world being used. The more fun episodes are where the Wish world kids make an elaborate imaginative play scene with the magic, or when Bianca and her family traverse the wish world and its magic environment. All in all an average if not boring series. See more 10/17/2018 This show is abysmal. I’ve heard it’s a vanity project by some Z list ex Beverley hills sleb and his adult daughter. She does the main characters voice and sings... badly... a lot. My daughter watches it at the mo and it’s doing my wife and I’s heads in.. :(. The CGI is terrible also. Nearly as low grade as the dodgy crap that more commonly populated you tube kids. There’s also a talking bear on the show that is a dead ringer for ‘Ted’. I keep expecting Mark Wahlberg to turn up and for the bear to start swearing. That could actually improve this awful show... See more Read all reviews
