I'm obsessed with this British miniseries following one family through a dystopian 2020s. It's completely harrowing, very nearly soul-crushing. Yet I cling to its tenuous optimism and profound beauty.

A loaded show that does not let the viewer rest. It's wonderfully executed. [Full review in Spanish].

Whenever Thompson appears, she makes the show feel most alive. Suddenly you realise why people become infatuated with these despots-in-waiting: they make for the most entertaining tele.

Yes, this is bleak drama, so cleverly juxtaposing social realism, a kind of sci-fi dystopianism and a caustically satirical look at populist politics but it's surprisingly funny in places...

...brilliant, funny and very, very timely.

Years and Years is uneven. But as an example of an art form trying to interpret the world we live in in something close to real time, it's something of a masterpiece.

What makes the future envisioned by new SoHo series Years And Years so stark and terrifying is how closely it's connected to the current reality.

A combination of smart writing, clever pacing and an impressive ensemble cast... results in a truly compelling watch.

Years and Years is certainly an amazing idea for a show. But the show's overreliance on sentimentality and the thinness of some of the characters are distinct weaknesses of Davies's approach.

"Years and Years" is one of the best shows of 2019 so far - worth going back and experiencing it in your own way.

Years and Years combines the grand sweep of a near-future dystopia with the warm intimacy of a family drama.

A fascinating fantasy by Russell T. Davies,...

More often than not, Years and Years is a smart, funny, and genuinely emotional ride that comments on current-day anxieties and the pliable yet resilient nature of the family unit. It's terrifying, tender, and true.

[Vivienne Rook] becomes a very addictive character.

This maniacally brilliant, rather human work of political satire hits so close to home it could very well prove to be prophetic.

It is half sci-fi dystopia, half kitchen-sink drama, and does both with equal verve. It hums with urgent and unsettling realism, and staggering human cost.
