After leaving the entertainment industry in the '90s to attend college and play minor league baseball, former child actor Joshua Harris reinvented himself in the 2000s as an independent documentary filmmaker. Harris began acting in the mid-'80s and quickly landed recurring roles on the serial drama "Falcon Crest" and the psychological thriller "A Death in California," about the bizarre relationship between a terrified socialite and her psychotic captor. He was cast on the popular soap opera "Dallas" as Christopher Ewing (the adoptive son of a wealthy Texas oil baron and his loving wife, Pam), a role he held until the show was canceled in 1991. During this time, he also starred as a terminally ill child in "Go Towards the Light," which was one of the first TV movies that dealt with the growing AIDS epidemic. Harris next appeared in David Lynch's critically-acclaimed "Twin Peaks" (as a mysteriously unlucky orphan) and reunited with "California" co-star Cheryl Ladd in the criminal justice TV movie "Locked Up: A Mother's Rage." Nearly a decade after his last on-screen appearance, Harris began producing DVD featurettes like "Field of Dreams: A Diamond in the Husks," about the small Illinois town featured in the 1989 sports fantasy film, and the "New Jack City" segment "Harlem: A Walk Inside."
