Veteran television actor Bill Quinn has appeared in nearly 200 roles throughout his lengthy career. Born in New York City, Quinn appeared in silent films as a child and, at the ripe age of six, made his Broadway debut on the production "Daddies." He began appearing extensively on television starting in the late 1950s, and virtually owned the '60s with small roles on the anthology series "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," the courtroom drama "Perry Mason," and countless other programs. He scored his first recurring role on the Western series "The Rifleman," as a bartender slinging drinks in a frontier saloon. In 1963, Quinn was waylaid in diner when seagulls attacked in Alfred Hitchcock's classic "The Birds." In 1970, the actor took one of the most notable roles of his career, as acerbic physician Dr. Melnitz on "The Odd Couple." Beginning in 1979, Quinn showed up on the other side of the bar in "Archie Bunker's Place," as a blind tavern regular, Van Ranseleer. His final role was as the father of Dr. McCoy in "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier."
