I had never heard of Adrienne before and she should clearly be one of the biggest comedians in the world. The jokes were staccato, monotoned and uninspired. It read like someone googled historical events from the last 10 years, wrote a joke about each of them. Stand-up is about writing, and Ms. Iapalucci is a top-notch writer. The late comedy genius Patrice O'Neal said, in an episode of The Green Room with Paul Provenza, that good comedy is 50% funny and 50% shocking. Sometimes both parts depend on the audience, but with this new special all the material is 100% shocking... I lost count of how many times I reacted "I can't believe she said that!" The stark darkness of the material is beyond admirable. Shame on anyone who rated this below three stars... there's something wrong with them. 😂 As Triumph the dog used to say... "I keed, I keed!". But seriously, leave the politics and all correctness aside, take a course in stand-up, and then come back to this special to truly appreciate the writing.
