The effects are suitably grand and slick and Howard does a good job communicating the silence of space. Go to Full Review

An exciting and moving film. It's also sad, an elegy for a union of vision and can-do that seems almost prehistoric. Go to Full Review

The underlying irony of Apollo 13 is that a lunar mission that went so disastrously wrong should now provide the basis for a film in which everything goes miraculously right. Go to Full Review

Tense, thrilling and superbly made, Apollo 13 is likely to become one of the box office successes of the year. Go to Full Review

James C Sep 21 flippin' phenomenal! so grateful I didn't miss it! See more David B Sep 20 Apollo 13 is the best See more Dario R Sep 20 An amazing experience!!! It was epic! See more Blake- N @PBSAniDom 3d Apollo 13 is, in my opinion, the best film directed by Ron Howard. It stands out as a masterclass in tension, storytelling, and realism, showing how powerful a "known outcome" story can be when handled with this level of care. What makes it so effective is how grounded everything feels. The film builds a strong sense of urgency without relying on unnecessary spectacle, instead focusing on teamwork, problem-solving, and the human side of a space mission gone wrong. Every scene feels purposeful, and the pacing keeps you fully engaged from start to finish. The performances are strong across the board, with the cast bringing real weight to the situation without overacting it. Combined with the practical filmmaking style, it creates an experience that feels authentic and immersive throughout. Overall, it’s tightly directed, emotionally controlled, and consistently engaging. I’d give it a 10/10 and consider it Ron Howard’s finest work. I really loved how the switched between Jim Lovells wife, and Mission Control at the end when they lose contact at the end during splashdown. Great movie, would totally recommend. See more Mike W. @Weebs825 Apr 19 An amazing story about survival! Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton and Kevin Bacon were brilliant as Jim Lovell, Fred Haise and Jack Swigert! See more Read all reviews
