This modern epic drama, based on a book by James Michener, is set within the Middle Eastern deserts during 1948. It follows the exploits of a young diplomat who searches for a U.S. senator's daughter and her Bedouin lover. Once he locates her, he must convince her to return to the States. She refuses to leave her Chieftain. The stubborn young man also refuses to leave and so the two continue to tussle it out while the colorful desert life goes on around them.
