Deena (Beyoncé Knowles), Effie (Jennifer Hudson) and Lorrell (Anika Noni Rose) form a music trio called the Dreamettes. When ambitious manager Curtis Taylor Jr. (Jamie Foxx) spots the act at a talent show, he offers the chance of a lifetime, to be backup singers for a national star (Eddie Murphy). Taylor takes creative control of the group and eventually pushes the singers into the spotlight. However, one becomes the star, forcing another out, which teaches them about the high cost of fame.

This movie is an absolute masterpiece! It's very high energy and has an incredible cast. The plot is a standard rise-and-fall trajectory. It has a very emotional depth and technical scale which causes it to standout in the genre and the music is phenomenal. Don't just take my word for it though, go watch the movie!!!❤️

This showbiz musical was pretty good. Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, Keith Robinson, Danny Glover, Anika Noni Rose, Sharon Leal, and the rest of the cast did a pretty good job in this movie. The plot of the movie was dramatic and kind of entertaining. It's about fame, greed, and family. If you haven't seen this movie yet, you might like it. I didn't like too much because there was too much singing, they all have great voices, but I thought it was a little over the top.

If you like musicals - its a good one with a lot of talent IF you like biopics, which I was expecting - its shitastic. I was hoping to learn something. I didn't. Nothing. I hated every minute. I will never get that time back and I hate myself for not shutting it off or just leaving
