See more Eve A @Eveaustin Jan 25 A deeply moving , compassionate must-watch film. Seemingly simple in its execution, it deals with one of the most complex and difficult subjects we as humans face. Kathleen Chalfant is extraordinary. She, along with the performers in this film, gives us an acting masterclassin Fantastic casting by Betsy Fippinger. Director Sarah Friedland is a revelation. She takes us an a journey of compassion and understanding with a sure hand. We dont know what will happen next and there is no sentimentality. Every frame is pitch-perfect. The script is wonderful. Tender, empathetic filled with love . I laughed and cried watching it. An important film that transports us with its truth to places in our soul. See more Vince Q. @Vincedeq Jan 16 As a topic that resonates with a generation that continues to grapple with caring for their aging parents, I applaud the filmmakers for holding out the frightening transition of independent adult to institutionalized ward. Based on the pro reviewer score of this film, I’m guessing that I’m the only person that felt this film was unwatchable. Adding insult to injury, I’ve been through the horror of checking a beloved parent out of their home and into managed care, and this failed to touch upon the enormous emotional tides that play across the family over what seems like an interminable stretch of time.
