Travolta makes this film a hit of the 90s
The acting was really well done I wish we saw a little bit more of Danny DeVito‘s character. It's not a must see but it's definitely worth a walk
There's plenty of entertainment to be had here, but Get Shorty really shines in its terrific casting choices. Still, you can't really shake the feeling that the critics' love for this film stems from its portrayal of their own backyard.
Very entertaining movie. Great cast, good pacing, mildly humorous. It did not have that special something that makes movies great. It seems like a movie where everybody enjoyed making the movie, but at the end of the shoot, it was just another movie.
This movie is a classic. It is a smart comedy with a great script and a stellar cast.
Really funny stuff, good story too
The movie's plot was kind of eh. It was funny and entertaining to watch but it felt like it was missing something to make it a great movie.
Get Shorty is too populated with awkward appearances. I.E. Danny DeVito comes in at a restaurant scene and leaves quickly before the food arrives and a dramatic or funny conversation is had.
Get Shorty is a hilariously funny, brilliantly written and colorfully acted satire of how hard it is to get a Hollywood movie made. All the moving pieces and different parties, each with their own motivations and goals, make it a natural fit for a film-loving gangster. Leonard is the man, as the movie totally depends on his script, and every part of it is awesome (dialogue, characters, story webbing).
