Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau are back for more outrageous shenanigans in Grumpier Old Men. When a lovely vixen buys Chuck's old bait shop with plans to turn it into an authentic Italian restaurant Max and John team-up in order to run her out of business. It's a fairly predictable and clichéd plot. And the comedy is pretty stereotypical, and hits a lot the same beats as the last film. However, the cast has incredibly good chemistry and is able to make most of the jokes work. Though it's not quite as good as the original, Grumpier Old Men is still a fun and entertaining slapstick comedy.

Just as good as the original.

I watched this one immediately following the first film, and though it's not as good, I still enjoyed this one. Sophia Loren was a welcome addition to the mix and Burgess Meredith was hilarious again. Worth a watch!

Funny and entertaining. Watch older actors at their best.

After the first film, Grumpy Old Men was a big hit, naturally a sequel Grumpier Old Men was created. Both Lemmon and Matthau resume their roles and start the film merely taking pot shots at each other as they have become from friends with the ending of the first film. When the two kids are having wedding jitters though, the kid gloves are off and the pranks begin. On top of it Matthau is now attempting to court the new lady in town Maria Ragetti (Sophia Loren). Grumpier Old Men is like most sequels, not as good as the first one, and goes for cheaper laughs. The characters still make it entertaining enough, and its worth watching if you enjoy the original.

Just as good as the first! Which I barely remember! Okay, maybe not better than the first! But still a great film! A fun, easy-to-follow plot, with two romance subplots and generally it's just a wholesome, fun, '90s comedy.

Though it seems rehashed, This film still delivers the same amount of laughs the first film gave.

Lemmon and Matthau have done it again!

Despite the fact that the 2nd half of the film falls away and moves into soppyland the first is full of great gags but the master in this one is Burgess Meredith .

It's lost some of its spunk.

The pleasant, deserving sequel completes the story of the grumpy old men with this being better and funnier. (A-)
