Even more refreshing is the total absence of identity politics. There is no moral grandstanding or social posturing; the characters are defined by their grit and their actions, not their demographics. This is a "good old-fashioned" action flick in the best sense. It’s a visceral, high-octane ride where the lines between right and wrong are clear, and the good guy actually wins. By ignoring the urge to be "edgy," Hunting Season becomes an instant classic.
