Here I am 10 years later in 2026 watching it for the first time. It is indeed terrible. The writing is laughably bad. Huge mothership lands on Earth, full screen for about 20 seconds, and one guy goes "There's the mothership!" I'm shocked they got Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman to reprise their roles with this awful script/dialogue. Paragonabile per certi versi alla parabola de "Il Gladiatore" il secondo atto è ovviamente epico dal punto di vista visivo con l'utilizzo della CGI e delle sequenze di azione veramente massivo; vengono anche riproposti alcuni degli attori del primo capitolo con ruoli differenti; nonostante tutto ciò, proprio come per l'altra saga appena citata, a mancare è l'empatia per i personaggi che provoca le emozioni fondamentali per un sequel di questo tipo. Non si percepisce nessuna simpatia per i personaggi ne tantomeno si capiscono le loro storie e i loro scopi; tutto questo non viene coperto dalle sequenze di azione che anzi sono davvero troppe e risultano essere noiose alla lunga. Até entendo a premissa acelerada de início porque já conhecemos os inimigos, porém as contra soluções são decifradas rápido demais, os personagens não tem carisma, CGI ruim em vários momentos, as perdas não são sentidas, não há reflexão sobre decisões ou descobertas ou intrigas, enfim, nada conecta com nada.
